Bob Dylan in Shanghai
A couple of Fridays ago we flew to Shanghai, hung out in a hotel room for a few hours, then took the crowded peak-hour metro to the Shanghai Grand stage. Bob Dylan was performing. The crowds in the subway on a Friday evening could overwhelm anyone. I don't know how L and R made it without … Continue reading Bob Dylan in Shanghai
Upsy Daisy…Upsy Daisy…
Leila loves Upsy Daisy, a character from her new favorite TV series In the night garden. She first used to call her"Dai", then "Dai-dy" and now she says "Daisy" clearly. It is very sweet to hear. Lately she says it often. Each episode of the show begins with a parent telling their baby a bedtime … Continue reading Upsy Daisy…Upsy Daisy…

Down dog at dinner
How do you explain to a toddler who loves her down dog, that yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach? For every mouthful of her heavy pasta dinner Leila performed a deep down dog for us. I doubt it was comfortable, and certainly far from blissful!
War-God
Yesterday we went to play in neighbouring housing complex. This is a high-end Chengdu neighborhood where mainly expatriates and very rich Chinese people live. We were running around a non-functional fountain, close to the playground when all of a sudden we heard dance music pumping loudly. The road is not far, so I figured it … Continue reading War-God
“Rrrrr”
Leila has been calling Rahul "Yaya" over the last month. He is now calling himself that! Nanu a.k.a Aniroodh or should I say Aniwoodh warned me about the "rrr" in his name!
We had to laugh (in retrospect!) when…
...on our way back from a trip to Hong Kong in October 2010, we missed our flight and had to spend ten hours at the airport scavenging for diapers and formula! Leila had a bad case of diarrhea and so we left the hotel a little late, but I can't put the blame on that! … Continue reading We had to laugh (in retrospect!) when…
